The Knights Quest 2009-2010 season has been cancelledAfter weeks of trying to find a way to squeeze everything in, we had to decide to cut some commitments so that we could regain a little time for the family. Thank you to everyone that has participated in all of the Knights tournaments and Knights in Nampa over the years, it has been a pleasure. This site and the webchess server will stay up and running. General Knights Quest 2009-2010 InformationAll start times are 10:00am. Be there between 9:30am and 9:45am to make sure we can start on timeLocation for all tournaments is 16011 Idaho Center Blvd, Wings - Pizza - N - Things, Nampa, ID 3 Scholastic sections (advanced, intermediate, beginner) and 1 Adult section Scholastic players are welcome to play up, adults only have the option of playing in the adult section All tournaments will use the NWSRS rating system (if you have a USCF rating then it will be in the NWSRS database) Scholastic players - NWSRS rating above 700 can not play in beginner section, above 900 can not play in intermediate There are 1000 Knights Quest points available for the 6 tournaments from Oct through March Standings at the end of the 2009-2010 Knights Quest season will determine trophies and cash prizes awarded on March 13th, 2010 Players can request bye points for up to two of the first four tournaments if they have other commitments that prevent them from attending. The points given for a missed tournament will be equal to the number of points for a player that would have shown up and lost all of their games. This will help reduce the penalty for having other things in life to do besides chess. :) During each tournament, players can request a bye for any round other than the last round of that tournament. 1/2 point will be given for a bye. Requests must be made before the end of the first round. Total number of byes for each tournament allowed is listed in the chart below. Entry Fee (for each tournament): $7 if pre-registered using the IdahoChess.net registration page by 9pm on the Friday night directly before tournament $10 procrastinator special at the door Bring your chess clocks (digital preferred) if you have them. Knights Quest 2009-2010 Season Cash Prizes Awarded March 13thTrophies for 1st through 5th place will be awarded.Monthly prizes are medals and ribbons for scholastic sections and free entry to the next tournament for adult section Cash prizes and trophies are estimates based on an average of 25 players per tournament. We can seat 40-48 players, so invite your friends for more fun and increased prizes.
