Whether you're looking to improve your rating, gain tournament experience, or simply enjoy competitive chess, Quarterly Quads provide a welcoming environment for players of all ages and skill levels.
Annual Prize Fund
Earn Points & Compete
Each quarter consists of three monthly Quarterly Quad events. ICN Members earn points using the traditional chess scoring system: 1 point for a win, ½ point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Points accumulate throughout the quarter, rewarding both strong performance and consistent participation. Because players compete against opponents near their own rating level, every participant has a fair opportunity to earn points and compete for quarterly and annual prizes.
How to Participate
Getting started is simple. Register for any Quarterly Quad event and compete in monthly USCF-rated games for just $20 per tournament. Players who wish to be eligible for quarterly and annual prizes must become Idaho Chess Network members. Quarterly Quads are designed to be accessible for players of all experience levels, making them an excellent way to gain tournament experience, build confidence, and track your progress throughout the year. Whether your goal is improving your rating, preparing for larger events, or competing for prizes, every tournament provides valuable games and meaningful competition.
Prize Pool & Awards
Quarterly Quads is designed to reward participation while continuously growing the prize fund. Forty percent of all tournament registration fees are returned directly to players through prizes, with twenty percent allocated to the current quarter's prize pool and another twenty percent contributed to the annual championship fund. As participation increases, both prize pools grow, creating larger rewards, stronger competition, and greater excitement throughout the year. Every game played helps shape the standings, and every event provides another opportunity to earn prizes and recognition.
