Welcome to the next level of chess for young players!
Whether you are a brand-new student just learning how the pieces move or a talented junior competitor aiming for national titles, Idaho has a tournament waiting for you. This page lists all upcoming scholastic-specific events as well as major open tournaments that feature special Scholastic Sections (including U-500, U-1000, U-1200, and K-3 divisions).
At these events, young players can compete against peers of similar skill levels, earn USCF ratings, qualify for state championships, and celebrate their love of the game in a fun, supportive environment. No matter where you live in Idaho, we are working hard to bring competitive chess to schools, libraries, and clubs near you.
